Tim Sabean was most recently the SVP for the Howard Stern Channels on SiriusXM satellite radio, where he built the two most successful audio entertainment channels in satellite radio history. For ten years, Sabean was directly responsible for the development and growth of the Howard Stern Channels. Sabean also served as Sirius’ SVP of Comedy and Entertainment, with involvement in all aspects of this deep, rich offering that serves over 26 million subscribers.
Sabean’s extensive radio career includes managing both AM and FM rock, oldies, news/talk and sports formats in multiple US markets. He is known for his exceptional abilities in developing talent and achieving great success in multiple markets.
As Vice President, Active Rock Programming at Infinity Broadcasting, the company he served starting in 1991, Sabean supervised the programming for Infinity’s rock stations WYSP-FM/Philadelphia, WBCN-FM/Boston, WRKZ-FM/Pittsburgh, KUFO-FM/Portland, KRSX-FM/San Antonio, WAZU-FM/Columbus, and WXRK-FM/New York. Sabean simultaneously served as Vice President of Programming for Infinity’s Philadelphia cluster: WYSP-FM, WPHT-AM, WIP-AM, KYW-AM and WOGL-FM, as well as Operations Manager for WYSP. He was also involved with operations for Infinity stations WJFK-FM/Washington, DC, WXRK-FM/New York, WKRK-FM/Detroit and WCKG-FM/Chicago. Previously, he held programming positions at WCKG-FM, WLUP-FM and WLS-AM/FM in Chicago, and KLOS-FM/Los Angeles.
While Sabean was with CBS Radio he created and built out the Eagles Radio Network, which served East Coast Philadelphia Eagles football fans for more than 14 years. Tim dealt with all aspects of play-by-play, working in tandem with the Eagles organization. Sabean was presented with an NFC Championship ring from Eagles owner Jeff Lurie for his commitment to excellence in supporting the team brand.
Sabean also owns Sovereign Communications, LLC and American Radio Broadcasting Company, which consists of 15 radio stations in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, with offices in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. These stations serve their communities with formats including News, Sports, Rock, Country, Oldies and Current Hits.
Tim Sabean serves on the Board of Governors for the Friars Club in New York City. The Friars Club is a private club that caters primarily to people in the entertainment business. Its membership consists of individuals from the entertainment industry as well as other professional fields.
