Description: Support includes transportation, housing, materials and equipment, skilled assistance, marketing and publicity, documentation and opening reception to bring the project to the public.

Watermill also welcomes research proposals from established scholars. Session: Fall (Sept-Dec) and Spring (Mar – June); 1-4 week sessions Description: Living space (dormitory), workspace and use of one large passenger van for local use.

Session: Summer, sessions vary in length depending on the project Description: Companies and artists are supported through overlapping residencies during which time they are provided with free rehearsal space, room, and board. Throughout the residencies, open rehearsals invite residents of Hunter and surrounding towns to play an active role in the development of new works.

As part of the HERE community of artists and audiences, our residents show works-in-progress, develop workshop productions, and mount full–scale productions. Through our residency programs, HERE seeks to not only grow innovative artistic work, but also give artists the awareness and skills—in areas such as audience relations, budgeting, grantwriting, and touring—they need to continue to grow their careers.
